Roof conversion of a listed property - 1st construction phase

To provide new living space in Berlin-Steglitz, an attic was converted into eight new residential units in an apartment building with a floor area of around 1,300 m². ARIKON took on the structural work, carpentry and roofing work for this project.

The 100-year-old ceiling beams were structurally and energetically renovated. In the process, importance was attached to constructive wood protection. The planned roof extension was carried out as discreetly as possible in order to preserve the listed building fabric as far as possible.
Furthermore, extensive measures were taken to comply with fire safety regulations.

A special feature were the numerous dormers clad in zinc sheeting.
