Roof conversion of a listed property - 2nd construction phase

In order to provide new living space in Berlin-Steglitz, an attic floor with 24 new residential units was developed in an apartment building with a floor area of around 3,000 m² and a roof area of 4,500 m². ARIKON was responsible for the structural work, carpentry and roofing.

The 100-year-old ceiling beams were structurally and energetically renovated. In the process, importance was attached to constructive wood protection. The planned roof extension was carried out as discreetly as possible in order to preserve the listed building fabric as far as possible.

Furthermore, extensive measures were taken to comply with fire safety regulations.

A special feature were the numerous dormers clad in zinc sheeting.
