Roof conversion of a listed property - 2nd construction phase
To create new living space in Berlin-Steglitz, an attic with 23 new residential units was converted in a rental building with a floor area of around 3,000 m² and a roof area of 4,500 m². ARIKON carried out the structural work, carpentry and roofing work for this project.
The 100-year-old ceiling beams were structurally and energetically renovated. In the process, importance was attached to constructive wood protection. The planned roof extension was carried out as discreetly as possible in order to preserve the listed building fabric as far as possible.
Furthermore, extensive measures were taken to comply with fire safety regulations.
A special feature were the numerous dormers clad in zinc sheeting.
