BRIDGE OVER THE OLD SPREE NEAR LEIBSCH
The reinforced concrete bridge over the Alte Spree, dating from 1926, was demolished due to its condition and replaced by a new bridge. This new bridge offers additional space for a bicycle path by increasing its width.
Due to the fact that the construction project was located in the flood area of the Spree, all construction activities had to be carried out under difficult hydrological conditions. In addition, a watercourse management system had to be guaranteed during the construction period, which was realized by means of piping and coffer dams.
